its the heat AND the humidity
What a terrible time for our AC to go down. It's supposed to be 100 degrees for the next two days.
I can't remember the last time I've been in such oppressive, punch-you-in-the-face kind of heat. It really is almost physically painful to step from lovely air conditioned place of work into muggy heat of night to catch the bus.

AMEN to that--it's been 103 here on the farm--even Deacon stays inside in the laundry room in spite of 12 new chickens to tempt him.. I'm so glad we put a ceiling fan in there for him~It has been said that Dr. Gorry opened up the south with his invention of the ice machine--I think air conditioning is what did it. We never had it when I was growing up--not 'til you were born, in fact. I don't know how we lived! But the turn of the season is on its way--Deacon is growing a beautiful ruff already, and has stopped shedding so much. Hang in there, and put a wet cloth on your head when you ride your bike.
Love you---Mom
Does your place have a pool? Zboy and I are LIVING in ours. It has been a godsend and we're not spending all our time sitting on our butts inside this summer.
Get a ziploc with ice in it and wear it under a hat. That will help.
Psst...mom.... no bike to ride anymore!
Its not just us, apparently. Two other units at our address have gone out, and the AJC had an article about the collapse of many AC systems across the region over the past few days. Every HVAC company is completely backlogged, they've never seen so many AC units go down at once.
Meanwhile, I'm taking a cold shower and heading to a movie theatre for a few hours. Forecast says... no end in sight.
I magine how wonderful it is wearing polyester, kevlar, and about 20 pounds of gear strapped to your waist...
